About This Pod

What this pod covers.

This pod holds the shows that explain where something came from, from 1836 statehood history to comic-book discussion. The subjects include heritage, folklore, society, and pop culture, along with parts of Arkansas history that get little coverage elsewhere.

Research is the work these shows share. A history episode depends on its sources, and the hosts in this pod know the state archives, the county historians, and which family stories need a second check. Archival audio, museum partnerships, and school outreach come up regularly.

Pod nights cover archives and sourcing, working with museums and historians, and shaping research into an episode listeners finish. Between meetups the pod stays in touch in a group thread, and during its host month it sets the theme for both chapter meetups.
