Volunteer with the Collab.
Volunteers cover most of the work of running the Collab, including the monthly meetups, ARKAST, the podcast directory, the website, and the mentorship program.
Ways to Volunteer
Volunteer roles.
The roles below vary in time commitment. Some are monthly, and others are a single day a year at ARKAST.
Event support
Help run events, workshops, and meetups, including room setup, welcoming attendees, managing registrations, and breakdown afterward.
Content creation
Assist with content for the website, social channels, the newsletter, and communications around ARKAST. Writers, designers, and video editors are all needed for this role.
Directory management
Help maintain the Arkansas Podcast Directory. Research and add new podcasts, update existing listings, keep the information accurate.
Membership outreach
Help with outreach to new members and explain what the membership includes. This role suits someone who already knows people in the Arkansas creative community.
Technical support
Provide technical support at events and workshops. Troubleshooting audio and video equipment, setting up livestreams, running the board for live recordings.

Why Volunteer
What volunteers get back.
Volunteering supports Arkansas podcasters directly, and it also teaches production details that are hard to pick up from written guides. Setting up a meetup or moderating a livestream shows you how an audience responds to poor audio and where a guest booking tends to break down.
Volunteers work alongside the Arkansas podcasters and creatives who attend the meetups, and those working relationships often lead to friendships and referrals.
Most volunteers are working podcasters themselves, and the Collab also takes volunteers who do not host a show.
