The Series
About A Respected Color.
A Respected Color follows Wiley Jones from slavery through the Civil War to his rise as a self-made entrepreneur in the Jim Crow South.
The Arkansas Podcast Collaborative spent more than a year researching Wiley Jones’s life with help from Black history experts. The surviving record is incomplete, and parts of it disagree with each other.
A Respected Color is available as a podcast on Spotify, Apple, and other podcast platforms. The video version is on YouTube. Subscribing, rating, reviewing, and sharing an episode all help more people find the series.
